My name is Mesfin Tewolde, hydrologist and civil engineer, and I am the founder and host of this platform.

This website was created with a sincere intention: to make African expertise more visible and easier to find. The platform is simple, transparent, and built with honesty. It is not a fake page, not a hacking page, and not a platform created primarily for commercial gain. It is a professional initiative designed to help experts become visible and easier to reach.

The challenge Africa still faces

Across Africa there are many highly trained professionals in hydrology, hydraulic engineering, irrigation engineering, dam engineering, and water resources management.

Yet in many cases, important studies and projects still depend heavily on expertise brought from abroad, even where African professionals already possess the knowledge and experience required to contribute meaningfully.

The problem is often not the absence of skill. The problem is that the skill exists but is not sufficiently visible, not easily identified, or not effectively connected to institutions and opportunities.

AquaLinked was created to help reduce that gap by making African water experts easier to discover, easier to recognize, and easier to contact.

The purpose of AquaLinked

The goal of AquaLinked is simple:

• to connect African water experts,
• to improve professional visibility,
• to help institutions and companies identify qualified experts,
• to encourage collaboration across borders and disciplines.

By improving visibility, this platform hopes to support African development in a practical and constructive way.

Not primarily a business platform

This platform was not created primarily to make money.

In some cases, a very small payment may be requested from those who want to unlock contact details or consultant information. This is only meant to help cover operational needs such as server costs, technical maintenance, and support for manual data handling where necessary.

The primary purpose remains professional visibility, connection, and service — not commercial profit.

As real experts begin to register, the platform will continue to develop slowly and carefully. Future improvements will include correcting weaknesses, improving the quality of information, and automating more parts of the registration and management process.
