Rahel Desalegn Benti is a distinguished Senior Irrigation Engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, and certified Project Management Professional with more than 14 years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, feasibility assessment, detailed engineering design, construction management, and delivery of irrigation, drainage, dam, water-supply, and agricultural water-management projects.
Educated at UNESCO-IHE, now IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, she has led and contributed to major assignments in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Her portfolio includes the World Bank-funded Base–Kiryango–Nyirakiyange Dam and Irrigation Project, the 10,500 ha Kilombero Basin Irrigation Scheme, the 20,000 ha South Gode Irrigation Development Project, and the 13,000 ha Meki Dam and Irrigation Project.
