Eng. Mesfin Hagos Tewolde
Eng. Mesfin Hagos Tewolde
Eng. Mesfin Hagos Tewolde is a senior irrigation engineer, hydrologist and civil engineer with practical experience in surface-irrigation development, canal networks, hydraulic structures, small dams, construction supervision and agricultural water management. His field experience includes the 136-hectare Adigudem surface-irrigation scheme in Ethiopia, where he contributed to the construction and supervision of the canal system, approximately 400 drop structures, numerous turnouts and water-distribution structures, three culverts, and two major drop structures with stilling basins.
He also develops technical engineering products for sprinkler and drip irrigation, covering pump head, pressure requirements, pipelines, friction losses, sprinkler spacing, application rates, filtration, pressure regulation, emitter selection, laterals, fertigation and efficient water delivery. This irrigation expertise is complemented by advanced hydrology, reservoir studies, flood routing, hydraulic modelling, GIS and water-resources analysis using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS, QGIS, SWAT and related tools.
